Master Essay
Grading
The essay can be awarded one of the following grades:
A = excellent
A distinguished result that is excellent with regard to the following aspects –
theoretical depth, practical relevance, analytical ability and independent thought.
B = very good
A very good result with regard to the above mentioned aspects.
C = good
The result is of a good standard with regard to the above mentioned aspects and lives up to expectations.
D = satisfactory
The result is of a satisfactory standard with regard to the above mentioned aspects and lives up to expectations.
E = sufficient
The result satisfies the minimum requirements with regard to the above mentioned aspects, but not more.
F = fail
The result does not meet the minimum requirements with regard to the above mentioned aspects.
As of the autumn term 2010 all essays are examined by a specific examiner, who is
appointed from a group of examiners (examination board). The board participants are
selected to make sure that all profiles within Economics are represented. The examiner
can, if there is need, consult the supervisor for relevant information about the overall
essay process before the final grade is decided.
If there are special needs, an examiner outside the board can be selected.
