Facilities at the Department of Economics and Lund School of Economics and Management (LUSEM)
This page provides important information for Master students at the Department of Economics,
both prospective and those who have already been admitted. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to get in
touch with us. The information provided on this
page is mainly aimed at international students, though Swedish students who have not previously studied
in Lund can also find some of it useful.
Students who have been admitted to one of the Master Programmes managed by the Department of
Economics are required to familiarise themselves with the information provided in this document,
and in particular to the information concerning the Department of Economics. This should make your
introduction to Lund and your studies here less stressful, and is especially important for international students
Departments and staff at LUSEM
The School of Economics and Management at Lund University consists of a number of departments
such as the Department of Economics, Department of Business Administration, Department of Statistics,
Department of Economics History, etc. In addition there are many other departments at Lund University covering different disciplines.
The information desk at LUSEM
The information desk is located in the main hall in building EC1 at LUSEM, and is usually open between
10.00-15.00. The staff can assist you with, for example, print outs from the study register, timetable changes, where to
find specific persons or staff, the password to your STiL account, and an entry card to the computer rooms.
Library
A reference and journal library is located on the ground floor in EC1, and a library of text books is located in
the Alfa I building. In addition, Lund University has a large central library and several libraries at different departments
and faculties. These are open for all students. Some of the larger libraries are also good places to go and study. You can get a
library card at the library reception.
Computer rooms
The main computer room at LUSEM is located in the Alfa 1 building. Here you will find computers that are equipped with
the necessary software, printers, access to the Internet and a personal disk space through your individual computer account.
You must have an entry card in order to get access to this room,. To obtain such a card you should go to the reception desk in
the main hall of EC1, where you can get a document showing your status as a student at EHL. You can then buy the entry card at
Holmbergs (the print centre next to the reception desk),. Please note that the entry card is personal and not transferable, and that
all entrances and exits are registered. You log on to the computers by using your STiL account (see below).
Computers are also available for information gathering in the libraries,and in the departments.
Internet connection at LUSEM with own laptop
If you bring your own laptop to Lund you can use the wireless internet connections available at LUSEM.
You can connect using a cable in Café Holger in EC3 . Within the School of Economics and Management the
wireless network covers public areas such as the atria, libraries and Café Holger with adjacent spaces. Most of our lecture rooms
are covered as well as most part of the offices
