Arrival information for admitted and prospective master students at the Department of Economics
All students admitted to a Master Programme administrated by the Department of Economics should
make sure that they have read, and are familiar with, the information provided on this page. This should
make your introduction to Lund and your studies here less stressful, and can be specially important for international students.
Academic year and arrival information
Academic year
The academic year is divided into two terms (exact dates vary slightly between years):
- Autumn term: (apptox.) 1 Sept - 18 Jan.
- Spring term: (approx.) 19 Jan - 7 June.
Each term is divided into two study periods:
- Autumn term: Sept-Oct and Nov-Jan.
- Spring term: Jan-March and April-June.
Autumn term 2011
The autumn term 2011 commences on 29 August, and lectures will start on this date or a few days later - it
differs between courses. See also information meetings and timetables below
Lund University official Introduction Day - 16 Aug. 2011
International Master Students are strongly advised to arrive on the Introduction Day organised by
Lund University. On Arrival Day student mentors will meet you at the railway station and take you to the Arrival Day Reception at the AF-building.
You receive a "Welcome package" of necessary and useful information. If you have arranged housing through the International Housing Office you will
sign your housing contract and get your keys.
