Semester: autumn & spring/full-time.
Prerequisites:
General requirements: A higher secondary certificate that gives access to university studies in your home country and an internationally recognized test of Swedish if your mother tongue ia another language.
Specific requirements: Mathematics: 3rd year, 3rd level, or Course C according to the Swedish gymnasium program. Social studies: 2nd year, 2nd level, or Course A according to the Swedish gymnasium program.
Language of instruction: Swedish.

Course content:
The course constitutes the first term's studies in the subject of economics. It can be taken as an independent course or it can be included in a number of a study programme.

The objective is to provide students with fundamental knowledge of economic theory and the ability to apply economic theory to current problems, as well as to provide knowledge of, and ability to critically evaluate, economic conditions and development trends at the national and international levels.

The course consists of 4 component courses as follows:

  • Microeconomic Theory with Applications, 11 Swedish credits (11 ECTS)
  • Macroeconomic Theory and Economic Policy, 9 Swedish credits (p ECTS)
  • International Economics, 5 Swedish credits (5 ECTS)
  • Financial Economics, 5 Swedish credits (5 ECTS)
